It is my pleasure to convey congratulations on behalf of all of us at the Alberta Office of Aboriginal Child and Youth Advocacy to one of our own for being recognized for a very prestigious and well deserved NationalAward Deloria Lane Many Grey Horses Violich has won the National Indigenous Education Award in the category of Leadership.
Deloria will be presented her award by the Governor-General of Canada for her outstanding work in southeast Asia with Indigenous youth; her participation in the development of the Alberta Indigenous Resource Manual; and for her role at the Alberta Office of Aboriginal Child and Youth Advocate. The awards are broadcast nationally on two select television networks, Global Television and Aboriginal Peoples Television (APTN).
The Indspire Awards, formerly the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards recognize Indigenous professionals and youth who demonstrate outstanding career achievement. The awards were created in 1993, in conjunction with the United Nation’s International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples and represent the highest honor the Indigenous community bestows upon its achievers.
